Getting started is easy. It just takes a 10-15 minute phone consultation about the needs of your organization and how best to meet them. Below is a consultation outline to get you prepared.
Consultation
Project Goals. We discuss all of the big picture goals of the project.
- Project Structure– We consult on how best to break up your various website projects to maximize company goals. How many websites are to be created and how do you envision them working together?
- Website Structure– We explain the pros and cons of site structure and how it affects usability and performance. How close will the new website resemble the existing website?
- Content – We show you how to enhance, reorganize, and maximize your content’s value throughout the website. Is the content taken from the existing website or other sources? How much content will we be responsible for creating?
- Database & Information Architecture- We show you the wide array of database structures that are available for integration such as: Blogs, News Feeds, Client Login Profiles, Ecommerce / Shopping Cart, Project / Product Directory or Gallery, Employee / Staffing Profile Directories, etc.
- Content Management System Access- We discuss the various levels of access to website information and controls. What parts of the site will need to be edited by the client? What employees will have access to each part?
- Future Goals- We help you decide which components are imperative to have initially and which can be integrated over time. Where will you be taking the site in the next 2, 5 years?
Website CMS Platform.
All CMS platforms allow the client to update all webpage content instantly using a WYSIWYG editor (like Microsoft Word), from any web browser. We will discuss and select the appropriate CMS platform from the leading technologies such as Drupal and WordPress, and potentially more sophisticated technologies.
Design. We show you various website mockups that will work well with your project goals. We discuss the pros and cons and collectively decide on the favored design. Does the look, feel, and layout need to be similar to the existing website?
Online Marketing. We discuss and devise a customized strategy based on end users and marketing goals, utilizing a combination of the following online marketing channels: Search Engine Optimization, Social Media, Online Advertising, Directories & Reputation Management, and Article Dissemination.
Upgrades and Features. We discuss all applicable upgrades to optimize the site’s look, content, functionality, and performance.
Hosting. We discuss various hosting options based primarily on security and data backup potential. For large projects we unequivocally recommend secure, dedicated hosting, provided in-house.
Proposal Contract
- Proposal. We analyze all project development components based on budget, time, and technology to determine the appropriate set of strategy options. A comprehensive proposal, outlining the scope of work, timeline, pricing, and legal terms, is provided within a reasonable business timeframe, usually less than one week.
- Contract Signing & Payment. Once the proposal is approved by the client, a copy will be sent through the online signature portal RightSignature.com to formalize. Concurrently a Novachrom Paypal request will be emailed for the first payment. Upon completion of these two tasks, the project will begin.
- Timeline. A detailed timeline of all project milestones will be included in the proposal. Assuming no delays from the client (content submissions, unusual and/or unexpected change requests, etc.), our work is performed in a timely fashion adherent to the proposed timeline.
